This is getting ridiculous...losing my patience
I think a controlled slow movement is good at the beginning of the year. Last year they had made, for example, EB2 India as April 2004 but they had to make it U after 1st quarter.
So, a controlled slow movement will leave to more un-used numbers in the 3rd quarter when they will then be forced to make big jumps in dates to use up annual visa numbers

Just to be contrarian, I think the recent H1-B and L-1 fee increase is an opportunity. Instead of playing a victim of legislative abuse, we should come out batting with an offense. We should get businesses to lobby for us. We should get congress people educated about the unfairness. We should not say the fee is wrong, because these are after all elected officials and they will not jeopardize their election prospects by going against this measure. So we should say ok take this fee but then provide us with administrative fixes that we want.
The H1B/L1 fees is designed to hit the body shopping business model. It is nothing but a
legal/labor cost arbitrage that most indian IT service shops follow.
The fees is not the last but the beginning and more will be piled on as they will come back again in a year or so to fund more "secure the mexican border" initiatives. It is a beast that can never be satisfied. The American It companies are not impacted by the 50% rules and they care less about it. So it the resistance effort will be very minimal...like it happened this time.

My friend has a GC since Sep 2004. He recently went to India and married a person who has a stamped F-1 Visa though she has not entered the USA yet. They are planning to enter US this month. Is this legal? What should they be worried about and what are my friend's options if he wants to settle down with his wife in the USA. Will there be an complications if he applies for her GC or should he rather wait till he gets his Citizenship. Any comments would be appreciated

I asked this same question to my lawyer in 2006. we got that its valid.

Kudos to Senator Chuck Schumer for raising the profile of a serious issue - discrimination against same-sex partners in US immigration law. I got RFE on 485(field in Dec 2004) in last month for TB Skin test and employement letter. My PD is not current but INS is processing my application. I am waiting for physical notice from attorney. I have dependent whose AOS is not filed now I can not file due to retrogression.
With July bulletin my PD becomes current I am ready to file AOS to my dependent. Offcourse not sure that once I submitted to attorney how soon he will send to USCIS.
I have question that which one is best option to file dependet's AOS?
Submit dependent's AOS with evidences to RFE ? Means in same cover?
or
Submit dependent's AOS and evidences to RFE separatley?
Please advise.

1. "What is Date for Application?" - is the "Received Date" in my EAD receipt?
2. "Manner of Last Entry" : I put H1B - Speciality Occupation. Hope that is fine as I entered last year using H1B (am on H1B and there was one more H1 option there)
3. Current Immigration Status - "I put H1B - Speciality Occupation".
4. Eligibility Status - "I485 filed" - is that right? Am a July 07 filer.
Sorry if these questions have been asked before - if yes, please point me to the thread and better please try to answer these ASAP.

Can someone tell me how to get to the button battery that runs the date/clock on a D70? I've had three cameras with the problem of having to reset the date because the clock battery was low and the screen flashes 0 on the frame counter, the camera is virtually disabled. We have had these cameras since the fall of 2004 and they all crashed within a week of each other. I read in the book that the clock battery feeds off of the battery pack, or can be charged up (three days) with the optional ac adapter.
Also we had a problem with dust on the circuitry, dark spots showing up on images, and I had to send it to Nikon. If I need to clean that again in the future, I don't want to fry the circuitry, so any advice about that is greatly welcomed. Thank you
